NEW Predator problem!
#1
You know you have to find something to be excited about when your $6.5 LE has functioned for a combined 1 month since you purchased it 8 months ago. anymore, i'm kinda intruiged by it's problems. since i haven't seen it since i dropped it off at the dealership 2 months ago, it's at least interesting to hear how it's doing.
I'm not retyping the list of failures again... so here's an abrieviated version of only the main ones:
1) Tranny lock-up (every gear replaced)
2) Clutch siezed up (clutch assembly and entire case replaced due to possible lubrication failure)
3) Compression lost ( entire top end rebuild)
4) Compression lost (with only 8hrs on the new motor, it lost compression again and everything was found out of spec again (cams, valve buckets, and two valves stuck open, no one knows why. not even Polaris))
ANYWAY, so i was supposed to get it back today and i was SOOOOOOOOO excited. But guess what? when the dealer put everything back together and started it to let it warm up, while idling, the nut on the end of the crank came off destroying the crank seal, some gaskets and the case where it hit. All in all $300 worth of stuff. lets just hope that the back-order on parts is shorter this time (like under a month would be great)...
I just hope the lemon law thing comes out ok for me... any idea on what is wrong with this thing!?!

Yep, sure do. Its cursed!
Seriously, i can only think of two things. One the dealer assemble it wrong during preperation causing all the ware or with this severity I would say it was built out of quality control at polaris. Deffinetly a lemon and you should just get a new one from the dealer. If I remember right though your dealer may have screwed it up even more after the first failure with some bad mechanics. I wish you good luck. I havent had a single problem with my 05 LE.

ya 8000 do us all a favor and get out i dont rip on any other brands when it would be so easy to while my polaris has stood up to abuse upon abuse where the hondas dont its sad in a way but then i remember ALL ATVS HAVE PROBLEMS another reason why polaris might be seen as breaking more often becasue they out sell the compitition period more atvs out more problems do the math

My guess is that you had a lubrication problem from the start and damaged the entire engine. Since they didnt give you a new one at first, after they replaced some of the parts then the other previosly damaged ones let go. NO oil=fricton=very bad on new parts that havent been broke in yet. Hopefully they will get you back on track. On the polarisis does te engine oil lubricate teh tranny and the clutch? IF so then it all makes sense about my first statement. Now on my fellow West Virginians, come on lay off teh smart a$$ comments, dont give me a bad name from you ignorance. You will find that you can make some great friends that will literally GIVE you parts to get you back up and going when times are hard. On here it is all about brotherhood. Straighten up and fly right.

Now Chiknhawk is the kinda guy I like to ride with. He does not care what you ride as long as you ride. Well maybe he does care but at least he has the sense to keep opinions to himself. Guys like Chikn make this a great site. He has a DS but chats in the POolaris forum without criticism.

Are you sure your dealer is being on the level with you? I mean, they say they replaced these things that were bad but then it F-ups again and again. Seriously man, it sounds like you need to try a different dealer. It sounds like they have a bunch of chimps working in there service department...........
