difference in stock explorer 400 pipes?
#1
Does anyone know what the difference between the 95 and 99 explorer 400 stock pipes/exhaust is?
World of power sports lists different part #'s but the pics look the same.
Thanks

if the explorer is like a sport most likly its the frame around the start of the reat fender. the older ones come out more which prevents the newer exhaust/ after market pipes from fitting on as a bolt on instalation.

They should be interchangable.Go to a dealer and see if Polaris has changed part numbers on them and if so what the dif is.You may be able to make it work. Sorry I checked Aaens catolog and they are dif .

The 99 Explorer is probably concentric drive. I don't know if Explorers are the same as Scramblers, but concentric drive scramblers use a different pipe than non concentric drive scramblers.

Thanks for the ifo guys. I will try and contct the polaris dealer out here to see if there are major differences.
Hopefully it may just be the way its mounted to the rear of the frame.
Why would you need a different pipe if it was concentric or nonconcentric?
