700 EFI stalls when plow is lifted
#2
Don't know what happened but it didn't post my question...Anyway I just swapped my 05 700 Carb for a 700 EFI. I was out plowing tonight and after about 20 mins it would stall when plow was lifted with Polaris 2500lb winch. The plow would almost get all the way up and then motor would stall. It would start right up again and run fine until I tried lifting the plow again. Anyone have this problem??

Sounds like low voltage from running the plow up and down I have a carb one 2002 and get the batt. flashing some time when I plow more with the lights on that maybe taking the voltage for the fuel pump down witch would lean the motor out if that makes cents

I would have the battery tested. If it's a bit weak, it may not have enough of a reserve capacity for the winching. The lower voltage may not be sufficient to internally power the EFI system.

I have an 05 700 EFI with a 2500lb winch that I plow with as well and haven't had a problem. I think the key to your diagnosing your problem is the "after 20 mins"part. It sounds very much like you're not getting a proper charge on the battery or dead cells in the battery. If it was a wiring problem it would happen right from minute one. Hope that helps.

i don't have a sportsman but my moms kodiak will do that when i plow with the 2500 winch heated grips on high and lights on high. it only does it when the rpms are low, when going from low to rev or reverse to low, when i turn th lights off it runs fine.
