Default PREDATOR VS. 450R

man, you've really opend up a can of worms, i doubt this thread will ever end now. theres alot of bickering on the subject, but what ive found, the power is exactly the same, but the geometry and suspention on the predator is FAR superior to the honda. its also quite a bit more stable. though the intake system on the 450R is alot better than the predators.

all in all, in a drag race, id say its kind of a 50/50, the 450R might be a shade faster, but if you were to put them in a position were suspention and stability becomes aparent and neccisary, the predator would take care of it nicely. Matt Smiley finished GNCC third place with this Predator TLD

Default PREDATOR VS. 450R

I have the Race Mod Polaris Sport in my bio at the bottom, and I also have a 2005 Honda 450R, the things I like about the 450R is the HRC kit I installed plus alot of other mods, the 350lb dry weight, and ALOT of other mods made for it. But i don't own a predator but I think there heavier but still an awesome ATV. just my $.02

Default PREDATOR VS. 450R

I have answered this question a few times, but for Christmas my friends dad got a new 06 honda 450r with the hrc kit. My friend also has a highly moddified 04 honda 450r, with yoshi pipe, elka shocks, etc.... While my 05 predator only has a twin air intake(The stock air filter suckz *****, it got a little wet, and then started 2 rust) and jetting at a 165. His is at 180. Both run excellent. When we race mine is actually faster by quite a bit, but what killz me, and some times gives him the win is that mine will wheely very easily if I'm not careful. His did the same when it was stock, but his elka shocks completly stoped it from doing that. Also after he put his pipe, kn filter, and jet kit on there was only a small gain, while just putting the airfilter on mine made a very noticable difference in the mid to top end of mine. The weight thing is harly noticeable too, because that pro steering on the predator makes it feel like it has power steering. (The 450r has very heavy steering compared to my pred.) The only time it is at all noticeable is when lifting it to move it, or when moving it in the air, which snt even that hard, its just easier on the honda. Now for the 06 honda. I never raced him before he had the hrc kit, but I bet I could have taken him. We raced 2 time up oldsmobile hill at glamis, and he beat me by about 1/2 to 1 bike length. He has also has been racing bike forever.(He was sponsered by honda a while back to race their 3 wheelers) So he dramatically had the upper hand.(Ive been riding for about 4 years now) The most noticable thing about the honda though, was how bad the suspension was for recreational use, or even racing use. The shocks were super firm, even on the softest setting, and the quad 2 wheeled like crazy, almost every turn, if you didnt break the rear end loose. He is gettin new shocks as soon as he can. as for me, I need a job before any serious money can go into my pred. Thats a little summary as to what I found. If I missed anything then just ask and I will be happy to answer.

Yea, I'm with ya on that. you should always ask this in both forums and see what kind of answers you get and who is pulling your leg.

Default PREDATOR VS. 450R

I have an 03 Predator and my friend has either an 04 or 05 450R. THey both have their ups and downs....The 450R is definitely better for doing wheelies, as the front end comes up very easy compared to my Pred...but some times thats not good. The 450R has better shocks if you're doing some serious jumping, it's easier to control in the air and its a lot lighter too...so for big jumps the 450R, but i know the new predators have better shocks....as far as handling and stability, the Pred is way better because of its wide stance, even though it is heavier, it is put together better for stability. 450R is a lil tippy. In a race they're both pretty close, the Pred has more of a high end kick. Overall, I guess the 450R is a little more fun to ride for wheelies, but the Pred ain't bad either...If you plan on doing a lot of aftermarket add ons, there's prolly more available for the Honda....and I can say that neither of our 4wheelers has had much for problems, the Honda is proly a little more reliable, but my Predator has been through a lot as well. go for the cheaper one
