removing recoil starter

Default removing recoil starter
is there a special tool needed to remove the recoil pull on a 1997 250 trail blazer i need to get to the starter bolts

No i belive it is just a 10 or 11 mm socket with extension.

do i take just the recoil off or do i take the whole housing off behind it
