Default New motor break in myths. Gotta read!

Thats very interesting. I was told not to go full throttle for very long on a fresh bore and the story finshes with me and no quad.

rick ritter recommend me to break my motor in for 3 hours at 30 minute intrevals. never let the motor run at a constant rpm. while breaking in rev high let her idle down. ride the bike while breaking it in. at two and a half hours i wasnt cutting her much slak. that was back in july. bikes still running strong

One more thing about breaking in aeroplanes... the A&P mechanic used pure mineral oil (no additives) and then changed it very shortly thereafter.

One great factor about break-in using this way is that if anything going to break chances are it breaks under the factory warranty.
