Default Good deal or ok deal?

Hello all, I have a question for ya!

I've been looking for a third quad (sport quad) and my buddy just called to tell me that a friend has a 1996 Polaris 400 sport (two stroke) for sale, he stated it's has been owned by an older couple that never rode it, and that it's been in the garage all it's life and that it looks brand new with the origanal tires and even the origanal spark plug in it, the plastics don't even have scratches on it. My buddy stated it started right up and that it is very very fast! and that he is asking $1500 for it.

So... my question is! is this a good quad/ is it worth $1500 for a 96 bike? I have not seen it, nor do I even know what a 96 Polaris 400 sport looks like! I'm looking for a bike that will be riden on the sand, dirt, and some trails.

Is a brand new 1996 Polaris 400 sport worth $1500?

If anyone has a Pic of one could you post it for me?

Thanks!

It is the same thing as a scrambler, but 2x4. The 400L motor is a very powerful, and good motor. It can be build to be one of the fastest around. The only problem is the actual quad is quite heavy, and bulky. Don't get me wrong, it is great to ride and stuff, but when you want to go real fast, and like to do more jumping etc, then you'll need to put some work into her. I'd say if they are asking 1500....then try and get them down to about 1300...if they will, if not, then it is probably a decent buy anyway.

If it truly has been sitting since 96, then it would be a steal for 1500! Even with some light use, it would still be a stea for 1500!

I would jump all over that one. Yes it is a little heavy for MX style stuff but its still ok for that just land a little bit hard, they are quick quads tho for what they are and with a little money can really be lit up well. I was looking at buying a 97 sport in the summer before I bought my 2000 and they were asking about 1500 and it was a little beat up, tires were bad and plastic scrathed and stuff not very well taken care of. You will not be disapointed if you buy this it is a great all around wheeler.

The dealer in town has a brand new 2002 Trail Blazer 400 for sale. Its yellow with the 400cc liquid cooled 2 stroke and the fox rear shock. Its a hold over, but still has the hang tags on it. They are asking $2,999 for it and I think it retailed for $4,700 in 2002. A like new 1996 should be a good deal for $1,500.
