SP800 Tires on a Hawkeye
Has anyone tried the SP800 tires on the Hawkeye? I have seen a Hawkeye with 25's that have some areas cut out in front of the back tires... looked okay.
I own a SP800 and an looking at buying a Hawkeye and putting my stock tires on the Haweye and buying some 27" Mudzillas for the SP800. I assume that I should not need a lift kit? Or do you all recommend I get a lift kit?
Thanks,
Richard

They will not fit on the rear without trimming the fender/footwell. I mounted mine up and it looked like the tires were way to big for the quad, the tire tread set very close to the footwell lip. The Sportsman rear rims have more offset so it will widen the rear about 2 1/2". I ended up installing 25" ACT's on the stock rims with just a slight rubbing at high speed.

24's would be the perfect size if you can find what you want. I wanted radials and there just aren't many options in the smaller sizes. The 06 Wolverine comes with 23" radials that would work well but I can't find the tires anywhere to order other than a dealer and they are way pricey at a 100 plus a pop.

I figured I would have to do some trim. The hawkeye I saw with 25's had a little trim. I was hoping a little trim on the Hawkeye and all would be well. I was however concerned with scrubbing at higher speeds and cornering. I will try it this weekend and let you all know what happens........

There was no clearance problem on the front with the Sportsman wheels/tires only the rear but I think with the 26" PXT's they will hit more than just the outter footwell lip. They very likely will rub in the center of the footwell too at higher speed, the tires grow more than I thought they would....
