scrambler bottom end case
#1
Looking for advice... The bottom end of my motor case got a nice junk out of it. Just had the starter replaced by the dealer (hoping that is not the cause of it). My question is how hard is it to replace the bottom end or should I leave it up to the dealer?

Polaris cases ussually break as a result of broken piston skirts getting munched on by the cranshaft.
This is fairly common for me to see , I purchase cases 3 sets at a time . They will cost you about $280.00 from your dealer .
The nice thing is they come comeplete with bearings and seals installed as well as new bolts and studs . It is a pretty good deal .
The most special tool you need is a factory Polaris socket to remove the special nut on the crank .
While you are in the engine have a new rod put in too , they can get slightly bent when the piston breaks.
You may very well be able to do the work yourself .
