Can I wire the pod light and the lower lights to all work together in the "HI BEAM" position on the switch? Will the amperage draw burn up the switch, or do I need to wire in a relay? I eventually want to add a back up light, hot grips, and a winch to this machine. Id hate to have to add a relay for all these things.

Thanks,

Dave

if you are careful, you can put the swich exacly in the middle and a=have all 3 on at the same time. it works on a 2001 duce 500ho, it should on yours!

Trying to set the switch in the middle to keep all the lights lit used to be a lot easier on the >‘97 machines. With these newer style switches it doesn’t work all that well, but it does work if you fiddle with it enough and can get it to stay there. The instructions on my page will tell you how to set it up like it should have come from the factory, in my opinion.

We run all three lights, plus hot grips and thumb warmers in the winter, with no problem. I wouldn’t let it sit and idle that way for a long time though. The way to tell if you have too many electrical demands is to turn everything on and check the voltage with a meter. If it drops below 12.5 you’re asking too much of the charging system. Be sure to put the hot grips and thumb warmer on a relay though. If you have specific questions about how to do this email me directly and I'll try to answer them.
