Default work lights-to-reverse lights

I just bought the kit from Quadovator that makes the work lights of my 05 Sportsman come on when I shift into reverse. The instructions seem pretty straight-forward. Has anyone else done this mod?

Just did it yesterday. Pretty easy to do. I soldered all my connections, put shrink tubing on and then brushed on some liquid tape. Waiting for that to dry was the longest part. You should have no problem. The instructions are perfect.

Thanks, Bytor. I'll probably tackle it this weekend.

Just for information, there is a type of heat shrink tubing that has a temperature sensitive interior material that (when heated) creates a 100% waterproof seal. No need for liquid tape. It works quite well.

Ya, you have to email them and tell them what you want, then they email you back with an invoice and you pay through Paypal. Kind of a pain especially if you don't have a Paypal account, but the kit arrived in just 2 days. Idaho Vinnie, will I be able to find that waterproof heat shrink tubing at Radio Shack?

Hey guys, Quadovator is in the process of upgrading the web “catalog” to a web “store” so domestic orders can be placed right on the site (no email BS). The new system should be up and running within a couple weeks.

I’d be interested in getting some of that waterproof shrink tube too. Is it available online?

When you make this mod to the work lights, can you still switch them on using the toggle even when not in reverse? Thanks.

The Quadovator website says they will still work the regular way with the factory switch. They must mean in any gear other than reverse?
