duneaholic, is 3/4 turn enough on my air screw? Also, if the pilot is my problem why does it idle OK?

I thought that it bogged when you gave it gas? That's what led me to that. Try 1 1/2 turns and see what happens. Give it a little gas when you turn the screw during the 1 1/2 turns. If no work then go a little more. How does it run at mid and top?

Its not bogging (at least I don't call it bogging), its missing, like its starved for fuel or not firing every stroke. It almost runs like its cold all the time whenever you are less than 1/2 throttle. You know missing a not revving up quite right. Then I open it up and the engine is firing on every stroke.

Now to me that sounds like a overly rich condition on the needle circuit. Can you take off the top(unscrew) and pull out the slide and tell us what slot the clip is on the needle? Cause it sounds like when you get on the main jet circuit it clears up so that sounds like a pilot or needle circuit problem.

Are you sure the oil you talked about isn't comming out of the exhaust pipe....if so, maybe your oil/fuel mixture could be off??? I don't really recall a lot about these machines, so you'll have to ask these guys.

it sounds rich to me too, you could try another plug when a 2 stroke is rich its starts to load up the plug with excess oil insulating the electrode of the spark plug to the point of weakening the spark or stopping it all together (fouled) by decreasing the gap the spark doesn't have to jump as far (less resitance) so it can make it through the layer of oil acting as insulation.

let me know if that doesn;t make sense and Ill try explaining it different, still havn't finished todays coffee.

Yeah, that totally makes sense to me. The oil must have been coming from the exhaust, or the antifreeze would have been everywhere.

As for the plug I put a new one in when I had it tore down and it was gapped fine. I didn't pull the needle when I had it apart so I will have to check that out. I'll also take a look at the plug to see if its loading up or not. What slot should the clip be at on the needle. I'm not at high elevations at all...less than 1000' above sea level.

Here is also something that I might mention, it was pretty cold outside. Like 10 F type of cold. Not sure if that would cause this condition though.

Yeah I would let that puppy warm up good before I took it out and held it open for long. Try the needle in the 3rd slot from the top. That should be a good starting point. You may just need to let it warm up more. That's perty cold. For me anyways.
