Default 2000 Scrambler ?'s

I am getting a used Scrambler 500 4x4 on Friday and was wondering how much these clutch kits are and how hard they are to install. This is my first post here. I learned a lot about the problems just searching for the last couple days. Seems to be a great site!
From what I can understand, a clutch kit is probably one of the best first mods you can make, correct?

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

I would get used to it stock before thinking about mods. And then when you are comfortable with it you can see what it needs.

i agree w/ ftwflh. Ride the thing around a bit, in the sort of terrain you plan on riding it in and get a feel for what you want to set up for, then post back here. a lot of people will be willing to help you dial in your clutches to exactly what you want to do. Clutch kits are good for all-around improvements, but if there's something in particular that you want your machine to do well, then tuning the clutches on your own is the best bet. took me some time to get my Scrammy's clutches where i like them, but what a difference from stock! (ps, if you still want just a clutch kit i thing they're $250-$350 roughly, but again i'd say you should set your clutches up yourself.)

I have a 2000 Scrambler and I put a Black-White primary spring in {$30} from RCR and I am very happy with that...the clutches engauge at a little higher rpm and the motor seems to run at alittle higher rpm down the trail works nice.

Hey daduhdummy
You got yourself a nice ride. I've got a trailblzer 250, but am always envious of the guys on the trails with the scrammy. Oh and welcome to the forums.
