engine break in sp450
#1
i have a new sp450 and this is the first new atv i have ever owned so i am a little nervous about breaking the engine in right, the manual is a little help on this, and also what should the rpm's be at idle, 5mph, 15mph, etc, thanks in advance for the help and any tips

First off dont let it idle more then you have to when new, the rings need to be properly seated to the skirt, run it hard in lower rpms you odnt want your engine to be screamin when its new either... you engine should idle right around 1200 rpms +- 50 to 100
Just think of breaking your engine in as bangin for the first time... you dont want to ram it in too hard lol

Ride it like you stole it! Like polaris500 said get on it hard, vary your speed and throttle but dont go ***** out for long periods. The more you get on it when new the better it will run.

I agree, dont baby it , ride it like you want it to run and change the oil at 500 or fewer miles, it will last a long time.
