You will find that any pipe will generally give you anywhere from 7 to 10 horsepower. Ive never been able to really feel the difference between pipes. So you should find one that has the sound you are looking for, but keep the HP in consideration. AAEN has a really tingy kind of sound to it and the HSP that i have has a more meaty sound to it. Also when you pipe your machine it will take some of your bottom end off. Baisicly thats where a clutch kit comes in so you can rev past that weak part that generally lasts till about 3000rpm.

HPD or RcR. RcR sells both.

I have a Aaen 10hp pipe and a Aaen Aluminum Forest approve silencer both used.

The pipe is black and heat tape wrapped, has been welded at first curve to make a one piece pipe instead of 2, pipe is in vgc. and the silencer is in very good condition and has been repacked.

These were on a 440cc Aaen Built quad, I no longer have the quad so I have extra exhaust.

The pipe is $75.00 + shipping and the silencer is also $75.00

I have a HPD torque pipe and silencer, the pipe has a crack that need welding. The crack is on the first bend, and the silencer needs repacked. Both for $90.00 + shipping. I can e-mail some pictures.

I am running a chrome HPD pipe and stock silencer with HPD clutch kit on my current quad. These were installed before the others I have were taken off the other quads.

If you want new instead, buy from RCR the pipe and silencer, clutch and air box kit.

good luck

Picking a pipe for a 400 is a trick situation. You need to tell how you ride what kind of terrain you ride and what kind of improvment you want.
I personally like the Dynoport for low-mid power for normal trails and tech trails.I like the HSP and Aaen best for higher rpms.I havent ran a HPD on a 400 but I have on a 250 and it was good.

I had the RCR topend on my 98 Sport and it made good power, kinda had a Banshee hit powerband wise.I now have the CPI exhaust on and it gives great power from bottom to top.The CPI is more money, but I like the looks and NOT getting burnt by the exhaust when you ride.I couldn't get the HPD for my 98 model, but I think you can for the 99 and up,that being said I would buy from Rick Ritter for the great customer service he gives his customers.jmho
