Replacement CV boot for Scrambler 500
#1
Went to the dealer and he wanted $30.00 for one CV boot for my 2002 Scrambler 500 AWD. Made the trip to Advanced Auto and they let me look through all of there replacement boot kits. I found one that was identical to the factory one with the clamps and lube. This is not a wrap around junk boot. It is distributed by PTC "power.train.components.inc." out of Bryan, OH. It is CV Boot kit 6-1052 and replaces Alloy boot 10017K for $9.45. Clamps and grease all in the kit. This beats $30.00 for a stock one. I hope all of this info helps you save some cash on your next boot replacement, always feels good to get one over on a dealer.

Cheaper is not always better! I'd recommend the heavy duty thermoplastic boot kits ($19.99). They are a much stiffer and more puncture resistant material. PM me or look for them on Ebay.

For half the price of what ever the last post said, the durability is all that you need. It has been holding up great, I have put about 16 hours on it since the replacement and no problems, or grease splatter. E-bay is always a good check for a good deal, but having them locally available for 10 bucks and the auto store is open until 10 p.m. is priceless.........Do what you want, I choose convenience..
