Most of the trails up here in western MAINE are closed until after mudseason[STRONG,AVON,TEMPLE, WELD,PHILLIPS,MADRID]Up in RANGELY they have signs saying they dont open til memorial weekend, not sure about STRATTON-EUSTIS.I know its a bummer, but if we tear it all up the landowners will shut us off too.Iam dying to ride, but its the stupid idiots that tore things up,which caused an very vocal landowner discussion in AUGUSTA to get these laws on the books.BIG BIG fines in MAINE now for riding on a closed trail.Storys of atvs tearing up hay fields, harrowing up driveways, running over crops. We can all thank our village idiots for this.We all like to play in the mud,but if i catch someone really distroying a trail,im rattin on em,they are ruin it for everyone.Alot of paper companys have complained that atvs are going out too early, and breaking through the frost, and hurting their logging roads. One company has banned atvs on their lands all togeather. We got a good start, not much snow and its drying up quick, lets hope for legal riding by the end of APRIL.

We have just local land owners here. No Gov. involvement here just local Butt heads. The thing is we all are pretty much respectfull. It only takes 1 ***** to screw it all up for the rest of us. One man here bought a whole Mt. and closed off about 6 to 8 trails for hunting season to lease it out. We didnt like that but we respected it and we knew it was just for the seanson. Then some bright genius went riding on his land and said to heck with the no trespassing signs and got caught and he told them he was going to ride on the land when ever he wanted and tick him off , then the man closed all Trails year around. With no execptions it will stay permantly closed. Thanks to who every you are that screwed about 300 to 500 people out of some good riding trails. I guess thats why in the bible in the book of James 3:7-8 says" For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison"

escavader, we have the same thing here in central me. as well. all the railroad beds r closed down until mud seasons over. and ur right about the idoits that scew it up for everyone. there is a nice trail that used togo thru guilford to get to greenville but land owner shut it down because people wouldnt stay on the marked trails. down we have to haulthem to abbot to unload to get to greenville.

Our local trails here need to be closed - there is a small bit of property we can ride on around here and when the ground is soft like now ATV's just ruin it . All you end up with is a few miles of 8 inch ruts.
Park the things til the ground fims up .
