Default My belt squeels

I posted little while back, basically now my belt is squeeling when i take off in high 2wheel drive or four wheel drive. I have been riding in deep snow for a day, thats when it started doing it. Been crossing alot of water and i figured maybe i got some water in the belt housing but i pulled the drain plug and no water came out. What does the belt squeeling mean? I just figure it is time for a new belt, am i correct? And btw 4x4 quads in the snow are a BLAST, it dont get no FUNNER than that!...and yeah i know funner isnt a word

try and clean off your clutchs with some very fine sand paper to get all the old belt dust off
and get a new belt that should fix you up. does your quad creep in neutral??

I know nothing about the clutch on my sportsman will i have to clean it after i put the new belt on it? I was just gonna toss a new belt on it and hope that was that, how hard is it to clean the plates in the clutch? Are they right there with the belt?

In confidence, (and only among us men), I think it was your wifes fault

yea thtas really hard on the belt i would just try and change it out and see how it does and the clutch plates are the surface that grabs the belt.

I would have to say its his fault not hers.
He should know better than to let a woman drive his ride.

cleaning the surfaces that the belt rides on is easy. get some pure acetone-nail polish remover-make sure it is pure acetone though. any drugstore has it. just wipe the clutch faces with a rag and acetone. the acetone does not leave any residue behind and it will take the rubber off easy. i don't suggest sandpaper unless it is very fine emory cloth.
