Default Tires for drag machine

On ebay I see a set of Kenda klaws for 112.00. I also saw a set of holeshots for 150.00.
My size is 22x11x10, both are shipping included, putting them on a 250 set up for drags.
Holeshots seem to be everywhere I look, maybe for good reason.

My personal opinion is the holeshots suck for drag racing. They are SO HEAVY.
I run 22" prowedge 2s. Some run zippers and 4 snows. Carlisle turf tamers work pretty good on certain conditions.
Plus you can run them on the street if the need should arise.

A lot of people run the Pro-Wedges,they seem to do a good job.I have been looking at a set of AMS Zippers with .160 Douglas rims for $180.00 shipped from Rocky Mountain ATV.(22x11x9)

Honestly you can get a pair of Prowedges about as cheap as you can the other tires you mentioned. I think I payed around $120.00 for the last pair I bought and if you only race with them they last pretty long.

The hot setup down here is 4 snow's, or zippers, with about 8lbs of air. I like the kenda klaws myself. If you are just drag racing they are not the best, but they are a good all around tire. Don't get a knobbie with an X or H tread patter. They are not the best for drag racing and are a little on the heavy side, unless you get an mx tire. Peace.

Maxis 4 Snows seem to be getting good reviews for dirt drags

what are you running on? holeshots are not bad on clay/grass. I think a turf tamer is best for hard packed clay.

I have wanted to try and have heard that cut knarlys(center lugs cut off) or the dunlops that come factory on the z400's and 450r hook great when aired down.

660rryder, I think you are running to much air pressure, I usually run about 3-3.5lbs in my prowedges and they hook GREAT!

We run about 1.5lbs in my wife's 370R because it is light. I run 2-2.5lbs in my Banshee. You cannot beat a prowedge tire. We have run the 4-snows and zippers and they do good, but cant hang with the prowedge tires.
