You may take a look at the post that Toz has going here in the Polaris forum. He has had a problem with a frame tab breaking on the rear a-arm (I'm pretty sure that's what the problem was). My brother bought one for my nephew and I am pretty impressed with it so far. He paid just over $4800 for the 4x4. Try a search, there are a few other guys having some other problems. I don't have much time right now to reply or I would try to get you a little more info. Good luck.

I Paid $4700 for mine, with tag, title and other fees it came to just under $5000.

Some things to know:

Has no reserve in the fuel tank.
The fuel valve has to be reached from the front of the quad and is on the bottom of the gas tank, major PITB.
There now appears to be some concern over a couple of reports of a mounting tab in the rear suspension snapping off.
The headlights are either one or off, no hi or low beams.
No electric cooling fan worries me.

It's pretty obvious they cut corners where they could to shave a few bucks off the price.

Well I'm glad to see that somebody else is trying to decide the same thing I am " Should I buy a hawkeye 4x4? " I've been looking at the hawkeye and trying to find find as much info via the internet over the past week through various sites and fourms and first of I have to say this fourm kicks ***! It has by far the most and best info and opions by people with experience and similar ri. So far up untill today all the reviews on the hawkeye that I've read have been favorable or easily fixed [bigger tires, motor tweeks ]. For the price no other quad by any companies copmares. My dealer has one on order which is ariving on april 11. The price I got was $6100 canadian without wiench or $6500 with.I have first dibs on it and am quite shure that I'll be taking it. I am a little worried however after reading the post today and hearing a couple of poeple reporting the same problem with frame mounting tabs which a have read about happening somewher else. You definitly should reed the post. I still haven't ruled out the hawkeye but I wounder if thier is any way to beef up these tabs (weld piece on?) If their is for the small extra cost you would have a great bike that otherwise seems quite durable.
Mabey the company will do a recall and fix the problem if enough people have it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

$5100.00, you should really check around for prices, I shopped around last september and bought my '05 Sportsman 700 carb for $6000.00 out the door. That's only $900.00 more for alot more machine! JMHO

I agree $5100 sounds a bit much unless its the limited one with all the goodies.......Or your quoting Canadian dollars or something.....

Try $3583 TN dealer and 4x4.......http://www.southernpowersports.com/n...2&CatDesc=ATVs

or

$3857 4x4 another TN area dealer...... http://www.ritchiepowersports.com/polaris_atv.php
Dont know what the prices are where your at but pretty good around here.......

I Paid 4400.00 for my 4x4 green 2006 Polaris Hawkeye,,had one little problem out of it and that was it,,rode it all summer in 100 degree heat and water deeper than the tank and it just kept coming back for more,,Rode it this last weekend with my wife on the Back, our Weight was about 330 pounds riding on the hawkeye and it never flinched a bit and kept tickin..A great deal but i still kept my Honda fourtrax when the going has got to get tough..Glad you guys got a hawkeye..I kinda thought i made a mistake after I bought it but didnt..Rick
