I just got a garmin legend c... color screen and more memory than regular legend $200. Though I haven't tried it out yet except messing around with it around my house. I think it has any features anyone would need for atv use.... tracks, waypoints, also does driving directions. I also bought a handlebar mount for $17- installed but not tested.

I run the Lowrance H2O.. also waterproof and very reliable.... mount it on a universal ram mount on the handlebars..... Has an excellent back light and you can purchase state maps that give great details on back roads... Won't get lost with one of these on board.
A suggestion to all gps users.... Purchase a small piece of 3M clear protectant tape to cover the display screen... got mine from the local GM dealer here in town.... Saves your screen from fine scratches from all that mud you have to smear off and replace as needed.... also very handy when you go to resell the unit to your buddy... just cause it's time for an upgrade....

I have a Garmin Legend CX with 512 MB Micro SD Transflash Expandable Memory. I works great I have a handlebar mount on my bike on the front rack. There is no way you can get lost with this GPS. It is durable and the batteries last a very long time also I have a 12v Plug for it and it runs off that so I don't even have to use batteries. It's also is backlighted and has autorouting for street use. I also bought the City Navigator Version 7 CD and loaded almost the whole U. S. on the GPS. The Card, GPS, and City Nav. CD was all together around $400. But you can use it in the car. So I say it's worth it in the long run to have for the Car and ATV. I got all this at the link: http://www.provantage.com/garmin-gps...GPSEQPGRMN.htm

I had a garmin legend before and it was great but now I use the legendC. I like the legendC more becasue it has more memory and the color screen is easier to see your track. You can make the track a bright color that contrasts fron the rest of the map features. It is very user freindly. I also put protection on my screen, I use PDA screen protector film and cut it to fit. It works freat and when it start to get too scratcheds I just replace it and this keeps the screen in new condition. If you get a GPS what ever the brand make sure it has a down loadable topo map program available. This works great for keeping track of your trips and waypoints.

Maggelan is a good brand too. They put GPS in Hertz rent a cars. It's called Neverlost and it did really good. That's what really made me like GPS's. For just ATV use you could probably get by with a lesser GPS like the extrex or regular legend that will just tell you how to get back to camp. But if you want something for Traveling the country the Garmin Legend CX with expandable memory with City Nav. V7 CD is the way to go. Also the Technicians at Garmin told me that soon they will test a 1GB Transflask Micro SD Card in the GPS right now I think 512 MB is the highest that is what I have. it's great and you really need it for the City Nav. V7 CD . The GPS's in cars are really expensive and they can only be used in a car. The only thing bad about this GPS and maybe with other's that I found out is that in really bad cloudy weather I can't get a satilite or get really bad satilite reception. But after it kinda clears alittle it can get many satilites.

The Maggelans are good units and easy to use, but from what I have read, their customer support is quite poor.
I just bought a new Garmin GPSMAP 60CS for $300 delivered. I chose this unit for the color screen (recomended) and the altimiter capability. Also, I will be getting a mount system, a 12 volt power cord, and the topo maps (Mapsourse).
Good Luck, and have fun with it.
