It's my understanding the PXT tires that come on the popo are by Carlisle Tire and they are the 3ply A.C.T tires, not the 6ply A.C.T X\LR. Here's the link....

So you are saying that the 2005 800 Carlisle Tires with the Polaris Name on them are the exact same as the A.C.T. Tires in your Link?????
If thats the case then I am definatly getting rid of them.
My very first ride on my new 800 a last year I had to put three plugs in one sidewall hole from riding on the trails. And a fourth in anther hole.
Thanks

Hopefully they are 6ply. I do know that the P.X.T. tires are the A.C.T. tires and not the A.C.T. X/L tires though. Anyway, the PXT tires have been great for me. They pull good on all types of terrain, and seem to be very durable. I haven't had a tear or hole yet. I do not ride on rocks though, mostly I ride deep muddy swamps, in which they have proven to be the best stock tires of any machine made.

Well I talked to Carlisle (just got of the phone with them)
They said that the Polaris PXT tires that come on the Polaris are the A.C.T tires not the A.C.T X\LR
The only Difference of the two tires is the lug depth. The A.C.T.'s are 3/4" lugs and the A.C.T. X\LR are 1" lugs.
The 3* does not mean 3-PLY as stated by jimmypsp700 it means 3-Star. The three star is a star rating that is needed by all OEM's to use the tires on an OEM ATV. Its bacically a star rated test for insurance issues.
So the A.C.T.'s and the A.C.T. X\LR's are both 6-Ply Rated Tires according to Carlisle.
Hope this helps

Great! As stated, I knew they were the A.C.T. and not the A.C.T X/L. The lug pattern is a tad different and the PXT have the same lug pattern as the A.C.T. Sure glad to kow they are both 6ply though! I was disappointed when I first saw that 3 under the ply category. They need to change that cause it is misleading.
