Looking for a little info from any Polaris mechanics or engine experts out there. My buddy has an (early) 04 700 EFI, and he just broke his crank shaft. It started out with a dramatic loos of power and unusual noise, so he changed the oil, which seemed to help a little. Then the thing just blew up. The machine has just over 500 miles on it, so naturally he's pretty pissed at the prospect of an $1800 repair. My question is; is this a common problem, and should I be worried about a similar failure on my 05 700 EFI? I don't believe I've heard much talk of this happening, and I've had no trouble with my 04 600 through 800+ miles. Thanks.
