Default Predator Jetting Problems

I've got a Polaris Predator 500 - Troy Lee and I guess i have two questions. First, does it improve your performance by taking off the air box snorkel? And, if I do that - what should I jet my machine at. I've got the Yoshimura RS-3 Comp system and a K&N air filter and bought a Dynojet jet kit. I want to jet it for about 4,000 to 5,000 feet. As it is right now (k&n, pipe, and snorkel on) I've got the jetting close but, off of the takeoff i have a bad deadspot in the beginning of first and second gear. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

First figure out what is causing the dead spot, is it the needle , pilot jet, main jet? If its doing it at half throttle or 3/4 throttle its probably the needle. Full throttle is the main jet and barely open is the pilot ciurcut.

You need to either mod the carb slide or the spring by cutting two coils off of it.
