2003 Trail Boss Clutch Question
#1
My wife has an 03 trail boss and i want to pep it up a little for her. Ive read that tuning the clutch is the best improvement for the dollar. We mainly ride flat dirt trails. What is the best primary and secondary spring to use? Do i need to change the weights and helix? Where is the best place to get these items? How hard is it to change and will i need any special tools. And by the way i know putting and slip on, breather and rejetting will help but my wife doesnt want it any louder so im not interested in these changes.
Thanks,
Randall

go to erlandsonperformance.com i just ordered the brite green and the red primary spring. bought both to try them out. per conversation with a very knowlegable clutch guy here on this forum i was told just to replace the main primary spring to increase the power, torque of my 2006 330 trailboss beacause my great great great grand mother could ride it because it was soooo under clutched.

It seems the most popular choice is the EPI pink or red, but there are so many choices between those two springs on the EPI website. What about one between the pink and red?

i ordered the red and brite green. they have not arrived yet. i will be trying both to see which one i like the best. its just a matter of preference in what you are looking to acheive. some have higher engagement rpm. some you will loose a little bit of top speed. buy all of them i guess? no? lol!

The pink will have a lower engagment rpm and more top rpm the red will have a higher engagment and not as high of top rpm.My wife likes the pink because all it did was make it run a little faster on top.The red will make it a little quicker too.
