I know this has been discussed before, but I would like a little more guidance from some of you experienced folks. I am considering the Scrambler 500 4x4. This will be my first quad. I intend on using it for recreational use. The terrain will be heavy woods with hills. Actually, I will have to start my own trails in the place I hope to ride. Need some straight talk on reliability. I really don't plan on racing or getting involved in aggressive jumping. Just trail riding. Is this a suitable machine? I really don't thing I want a utility machine. Also are performance/handling mods worthwhile for this machine? Thanks in advance for your help.

look no further you have found the perfect atv for you. The Scrambler will be perfect for you and should hold up well considering how you are going to use it, I am the same kind of rider you are and my 2000 SP 500 hit the 1800 mile mark with no problems at all. If anything it has become a better machine as it gets older.
