03 trailboss 330 is very cold natured

Default 03 trailboss 330 is very cold natured

my wifes 330 is so cold natured it has to warm up of 15 min. before you can even think of moveing it does anyone know the correct procedure for adjusting the carb ? oh buy the way it runns great once it warms up

we just got a 330 trailboss, for me if it is cold it takes about a good 5 minutes to warm it up. What temps are you riding in?>?

Ours is cold natured too but after adjusting the valves it was alot better.

the temp has been between 40 and 90 it has always been like this, but the valves havent been adjusted what are the specs and do you adjust it cold or hot?

vavles are adjusted cold, if you are not mechainically inclined have a shop do it. Cause you need to be accurate to about .003. There is not much room for error.

Valves set cold at .005-.006

Guess you get the idea they're cold natured. Been that way since at least 2000. If nothing else, it does teach us patience.

Hello, Before adjusting your valves, please read: I had an 03 Trailboss and now have an 05. I had the same problems with both. I called the service department and they told me to adjust the air screw on the carb. The air screw controls the idling part of the machine. It solved my problem. After you get the air screw adjusted, you can make minor adjustments by giving a slight turn to the throttle cable adjuster. The throttle cable adjustment is located up by the handlebars (by the throttle.) It is hidden under a little rubber boot cover on the cable itself.

never hurts to adjust or just check the valves.
How much did you have to open the airscrew?

yea i need to adjust the valves on both my machines and if that doesnt help i guess i ll try adjusting the carb . thanks for the ideas.
