SP Low Range

At what MPH does your Sportsman wind out in low gear? My 500 is about 20 and my 335 is 15. Is this normal? It seems that the 335 does not "hook up" off the line in low like the 500 does. Is this normal?

The hook up differance is nothing to worry about. The differance in low end hook up is due to the differance in the two engines, the bigger engine will hook up with alot more authority. To get more low end hook up out of either quad,I suggest a primary spring change. As for the wind out in low range compared to the 500cc Sportsman,ANYBODY?

Back when I was in the "How fast does this Sportsman go anyways????" I wound it out in low and hit 26 mph. I was figuring on a 2:1 gearing ratio (estimate) that I should be able to reach 52 mph in high. Once my quad started nearing the 50 mph area, that was enough. I put my racing goggles away, and tended to the more important things, like enjoying the ride and the go anywhere ability, now with the HL life and 27" Claws, lovin' it.
