Just received my new Warn Winch for my 2006 Sportsman 800, noticed the box said for 2005 Sportsman, just want to know if it is the same for my 06 before I start the project.

I believe they are the same. Polaris also started pre-wiring the Sportsman for a winch in 2005 in case you didn't know. If you have not already bought a winch mounting plate go here: Wicked Pissa Winch Mounts

I have one of these KFI/Kappers winch mounts and can tell you they are better than OEM.

 

I second that. KFI makes good stuff.

 

the 05 and 06 are the same. worked on my 800 w/ the prewired set up.

 

Why didnt I know about this site before I bought my Warn winch!!!!!!! I could ahve had 2 big Venom winches for the price of one warn!!!!!!

 

Thanks for the info, decided to install winch last night, everything went great, just a mashed thumb for trying to do it by myself[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] !!!

Anybody cut there front panel out and put back around the winch? Any ideas on the best way to cut it out if you cant find a jig saw?
