Default Qicker Backshift?

I have heelclicker weights with their white primary spring and my stock silver secondary at 2-1. I would like to get a quicker backshift. I've heard getting an HPD violet secondary will help. What are the specs for this spring compared to stock? Does EPI make a comperable spring?

I'm also open to any other suggestions. I'd like to hear some of the advantages and disadvantages of using a progressive helix with my setup. If anyone could explain what the two numbers mean, that would be helpful. Thanks.

A stiffer secondary spring will help with your backshift but if you go too stiff it might hurt mph too. You'll need to keep an eye on your rpms if you change the secondary spring. You could also try hole 2-2 too this will help a little bit. On the helix end of things the #'s are angles you can also get tricky with were the angels change too, but basic's of it are a steeper helix will upshift faster, and back shift quicker being the angle is steeper. For instance a 45/40 starts off @ 45 degrees and chages @ x.xx" to a 40 degrees this helix would offer a good aggresive upshift yet you will be able to maintian rpms do to the angle change, we do this so you have the best of both worlds.

Thanks for expaining the progressive helix question. Do you know what the ratings are for the stock polaris silver secondary spring? I think I would like to find a spring that has a higher rate initially, but ends up almost the same as stock to make sure it fully shifts out on the top end. Would this give me more power exiting turns and backshift quicker or am I just confused?

Your on the right track, the stk. silver is a 20-55 if this is on the scrambler we normally run our white which is 45/100 but we run a steeper helix and more weight too. The other springs we have available are 50-75 / 30-70 / 20-50.

I see a lot of people recomending the HPD violet secondary spring. What are the numbers for this spring? I see the EPI white secondary is rated at 32-63. Would this be another option that would work with my set-up?

Look into a roller secondary. Speedwerx should be able to fill you in on the details.
