i just bought a 02 sp 700, which i love so far. but i have noticed that after riding it and i park, fuel leaks from a line connected to thebottom of the carbs. is this normal?

 

check to see if the drain screw is in all the way, it's by that line, should be a philips head screw. if it still flows after checking that, then you should check your float level. you can do that by taking that overflow hose/line and holding the bottom of the hose up, close to the carb(but making sure to not kink the line) and seeing how far up the gas will go. if it goes higher than the bowl then you need to adjust your floats because it is letting gas flow too much.

Same thing happened on my 02 700. Had to replace a worn out needle and seat in the carb. Check em.

 

im not too familiar with these carbs, how do i go about checking the needle and seat to see if they are worn?
