Default Price varies greatly among dealers for 800 EFI...Why?

I have been talking to a local dealership here that will sell me 1 of 2 he has as demos. One has 125 miles on it. After calling around a little can buy one "out of the box" for 600.00 cheaper. i want to be loyal to the first guys as I have been negotiating with them however, I need to be realistic. I really don't understand why guys would overprice there stuff so much. Man, I want the machine...but not the politics. What do you guys think about this? Thanks.

I'd say get together a sample of what would be a fair price for that bike, choose the dealer you think will treat you the best after the sale for service/warranty, and make them a fair offer. If you like I can get you a OTD price down here in Oregon...
