Default Sportsman bigger tires

I have a 2004.5 Sportsman 500 and was wondering if i put a 26x9x12 itp 589 on the front with stock rims if they will rub anything??????????

You should be ok ... but remember you have to also put larger tires on the rear to keep the AWD working.

i know i cant put the 9" wide fronts on my 800 because its too tight. you barely have an 1/2" clearance w/ the stock 8" on.

I've got ITP MudLite XTR 26x9x12 on the front and 26x11x12 on the rear and have NO problems with clearance, maybe if you put 27x9x12 or 27x9x14 you'll have clearance problems, you'll also loose power with the larger tire and or wheel. I stayed with the stock size as not to loose power. They look great and perform FAR BETTER than the factory tires.

well w/ the stock rims on the 06 800 i dont see how they wouldnt rub w/out buying the aftermarket rims on mine. is your stock rims?

I believe with the stock rims you won't get the clearance. You'll need aftermarket rims with the correct wheel offset. I believe the wheel offset on my ITP Type 7s is 4+3 which works great for the 9" tire.

You may want to check your tie rod ends. They may rub just enough to wear the rubber off the tie rod ends to allow mud inside which will wear the rod ends out real fast.
