scrambler hitch
#1
I made my own hitch and put it on yesterday...I had a hard time lining up the holes and the bolts dont seems to be at the exact same spot as they were before...I really dont want to loose the axle assembly going at 60 mph...I did torque the bolts to 70 foot pounds as shown in the owner manual. The main thing is,the brackets that holds the axle assembly are not centered.on the left side the bracket is 1/8' of the edge of the axle assembly and on the right side it is about at 1/16' maybe less. The left side look ok but i really dont want to take any chance,if the right side slide off the retainer it could be bad for me.I will post pics of it tomorow so you guys can tell me if its safe or not.
PS:the holes that i drilled in the hitch are not perfectly centered to the ones in the swingarm brackets.

thanks guys for the reply,i went for a ride this morning and look like its going to be ok.
I just found out that i may have to take it off...theres a grease zerks on the axle assembly,i cannot grease it the way i made the hitch.i'll have to cut a notch in the top part of the hitch to allow the tip of the grease gun to seat properly on the grease zerks.damnnnitttt!!!
