Has anyone had trouble with the secondary clutch mine is finished. The dealer said I should bring it in every 500 miles to service the clutch.Don`t you think thats abit often?I put that on every tree months.I can`t afford to bring my machine in every three months. Is this clutch problem rare?It cost me 600 dollars to fix it.I owned Yamaha in the past and never had costly problems like this.I was thinking I might go back to Yamaha,or is thisw a rare problem?

I have a 250 Trail Boss with the same transmission as yours and mine is about 3 yrs old and i have never had any problems.Your dealer is just giving u b/s for you to spend your money there.

I think your dealer is giving you a line of bull to get some additional cash in the door. Buy yourself a service manual and inspect the clutch yourself after every 500 miles. I have not had any problems with either of my belt drive transmissions.

You could put in the new HPD roller clutch. I have no experience with them (too new) but rumor has it that it should last as long as your machine. It was just someone's opinion who had seen one, but it was someone I am inclined to believe.
