Default mirrors ?

I have the Polaris handlebar-mounted mirror (which is identical to the one you can get at Cabela's for less $$). It kept loosening on the handlebar, so I moved it down on to the front rack. If you have a Gen IV rack ( not the new lock-n-ride style), the bolt on these mirrors (with the expansion bushing removed) fits perfectly in the rack hole over your fender and you get a very good view behind you. They also fold up out of the way for trailering and squeezing through tight trails.

I'll try and post a photo of it on my rack....rack mirror

I've got a fairing with the mirrors bolted right on. They are okay for the most part but get pretty banged up from time to time in the brush. This setup will offer you the best rearward view though. But it seems from looking at this site that not a lot of people run fairings. Where I am from there are very few people who don't have a fairing...its just something that you have the dealer put on the bike before you get it, same with winch, rear seat c/w passenger footpegs, racks, bumpers, etc.

The best end of bar mirror for Polaris I have found is made by CPIA http://www.cipausa.com/ the m32 or camo m34 . Find them for $17.95 at Summit racing http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...11605&D=311605 >Best I've seen anywhere. Better than Polaris Cabelas etc
Hope this helps someone!

Bringing this one back up. I bought the Polaris mirrors (2871217)and I wish I checked here first. Now I am stuck trying to figure out how they mount on my X2.

Stendori,
Check out my pictures. This works well for me. A little grinding on the aluminum part of the mirror and bolt her on.

Default mirrors ?

my biggest concern on any mirror is on the mounting of it and having not A- be in the way,B- being able to see behind me,C- like a few have said about the handle bar end ones loosening up. so i havent bought any as of yet.

Ok the **** mirrors are the Polaris Mirrors. I have the Polaris Mirrors (box that is) and the mirror is marked ****. **** had changed the mounting ends from plastic to metal. Not sure what this looks like since I called them today and they are sending the new mounting ends out. Second thing I am looking at is changing the fasteners out with something more stronger. I am going to a fastener supply shop Friday and see what they have. Then I will compare the new **** mounting hardware with the ones I get on Friday. The mirrors will not move once I finished with them.
