Tri/Bi Claw Magnums on Sportsman???
#1
I was wondering if anyone has this 27" combo on their sportsman. How do they perform in the mud, on the trails etc. Any regrets? I know that i will need a lift kit. Will a stock non h.o pull these tires. Any pictures of them?

I dont have a Sp, but I have that tire combo on a Magnum 500. Same bike except for the IRS. I don't run a lift kit on it, they DO rub on high speed bumps, but Polaris sells a set of spring inserts for about $20.00 that will cure that. (I dont have them on my bike, too lazy to go get them.. but they DO have them) PLENTY of power to turn them. If you're considering those tires, you must be looking for some deep mud to play in.. I'd suggest that you also buy a K&N filter and Outerwears for it.. (MUD/WATER Protection) NOTE: These tires are HEAVY, I would NOT suggest the use of SLIME (added weight, and these are 6 ply rated tires... I've NEVER had a flat) AND if you can afford it, I would HIGHLY recommend aluminum wheels to reduce unsprung weight. I've owned and rode with 27" Vamps, and after owning the Tri/Bi setup, any tires I purchase in the future will HAVE to have the " side cleats" like the Magnums and the Outlaws...

69er,I have a 01 ho 500sp with the bi/tri combo with no lift and magnum wheels and it turns them well and looks cool, but if you try to ride at high speeds it wobles like crazy.they also go good in the deep stuff,I have only been in mud up to about 1" bellow the floor board so far (not much rain since I got the ho)but I was pulling my 400sp through it because we ran it out of gas and still had loads of power.I have hardly had to put in 4wd it goes great in 2wd but this weekend Im going hunting at the farm and it has rained and the feilds will flood so maybe Ill have a real test. Also I would get the wider flares cause I get real muddy and Im going to lift the front so the weight of the winch wont be a problem.
