Default 500 efi fix is out.

For anyone who wants to know the fix for the 500 efi is out. I won't be getting mine anytime soon because my dealer is booked solid. They want me to keep it there until they have the time to do it. It only takes a couple of min thought. I buy a new polaris every year but no more. Anyone want a used piece of *@%! I guess me waiting over 6 months to get this thing fixed is not long enough for them.

Does anybody know if there is a service bulletin number or anything that I can use when I call my dealer to set up an appointment. I had to tell them about the resistor pack for the hot light fix so undoubtably I'll have to tell them about this fix. is this fix also suppose to address the melting plastic issue?

I'd like to know that too ... I'm going to book my appointment for the first 25hr service for next week and wouldn't mind informing them that they have work to get done.

It is not officially out yet. I'm going to be the second person only to get it. There is not going to be a service bulletin either. Only people who complain about the problem will get it. Polaris does not want people to know there is a problem. I have been in contact with polaris tech. If you get your dealler to call they might get it now if not soon. I'm leaving right now to bring it. I won't get it back until friday thought. If you want more info after that PM me.

My dealer knows that we have the stalling and the melting plastics, they are just a little slow on getting things from Polaris. I have contacted Polaris and they said that our quads would be cdovered. When you take it in if you could ask what they are at least doing I can tell our dealer. Thanks for now.

speedy63 I already brought it but it is just a simple upload to the ecm. Takes a couple of min. I was told by my dealer and another person who already has it and it give more performance as well as the stall fix. Where is your plastic melting. I don't seem to have that problem yet. I'll let you know more tomorrow when I pick it up. I think your dealer might have problem to get the update right away. My delaer told me that alot of people were calling the last couple of days and they just wanted the update for the extra power. I'm thinking polaris might not cover it if too many people say there is a problem with there atv when there is not. They will have to test it for a while to see if it stalls. Mine does stall but not all the time. Just imagine how much mileage a dealer would have to put on an atv to have it stall. I can't wait to see how others get the update on warranty.

Our plastic is melting right where the AWD sticker is and the supports under the seat. I have already fixed the melting plastic issue myself by having the pipes Jet- Hot coated and made some nice diamond plate heat shields, But If I understand this ecm update correctly it will make the engine run a little richer also which will also cool it down some therefore reducing the heat produced. We use our quads quite a bit and I would like it to be right if there is a problem, and both of ours tend to stall at times. We bought both of them in Dec. and have almost 800 miles on them already so they get used. Thanks for any info that you come accross and can pass on.
