You can purchase adhesive-backed foil at Lowes and Home Depot in the heating section. It's about 2"s wide, and used for sealing air ducts (instead of duct tape--foil works MUCH better).

I made some heatshields out of some thin diamond plate aluminum for ours, and the trailboss's that we used to have because of the heat. On the 500EFI's that we now have they got so hot as to melt the plastics too, so I had the pipes JET-HOT coated and that made a world of difference. It was a little pricey though but worth it as they are cool now even after a long hard ride.
