Prob with 4wd, please help

we just got some snow on the ground and the roads are very slipery, i was spinning the tires in 2wd and after spinning the rear, the front wheel ro wheels would catch and jerk the quad around, is this normal, is this why i have heard or putting mobil one ATF in the front hubs, please help, i like spinning out in 2wd drive on the ice, and i am affraid to with the front wheels jerking and catching 4wd,but it doesn't stay in 4wd, it just cathces a little , jerks, and seems to go back in 4wd. THANKS

Ok this happens to me ur armature plate is probabley bent some kind of spring is streched if i can find my work report i will give you more details.

The armature plate is damaged or bent, or the magnetic coil is adjusted wrongly. Take the hub off, and move the coil towards the outside of the bike. If you push it all the way to the back (where one would think it would go) it will not work properly.

Had the same problem with my Sportsman, had the plates changed at the dealership, found out today in the snow, it is STILL happening. With the AWD switch turned off, the front wheels should NEVER, I mean ever grab. This is a matter of safety more than anything. I'll be in touch with my dealer first thing monday morning to get this fixed for good.

It is not normal. The synthetic ATF usually, but not always cures this. You could try chaiging oil before you disassemble anything, and if it doesn't work you are only out a little oil. Taking the hub apart & checking the armature clearance should cure it, though. While it is apart, clean everything up good.
