Default Help.4WD not working

Ive got a 99 xplorer 400.The front wheels arent working when 4wd button turned on.I have 4wd in reverse if the override button is held.I do have a working speedo. The hubs have fluid in them. And Ive got a new speedo sensor wire. The awd button on the right handlebar doesnt light up and my neutral indicator light on the pod doesnt work.I think all the wires under the headlight pod are connected.Any ideas??

I would check the two switches on the trans, they control power to the 4X4 system. If the neutral light does not work and the bulb is good, also trans switches.

i agree on the switches as Freedom500 said. i remember on mine the neutral and reverse light dont work and if i throw the shifter around they work for a bit, but it doesnt effect my 4x4

Default Help.4WD not working

I put new speedo sensor over two months ago.It worked just fine until last weekend.Went riding over the memorial day weekend. All day friday it did just fine.Saturday morning and early afternoon it worked sporadically.By saturday evening and all day sunday nothing worked. Not sure when the neutral indicator light quit working tho.I thought there was a problem with mud buildup between the rotor and the speedo sensor magnet.Saturday night I took off the wheel and cleaned real good.Still didnt help.Im stumped. Thanks for responding tho.Scott.

Default Help.4WD not working

I just got done doing this to my 94 400 4x4.The shift linkage gets just out of position and then the 4x4 doesnt work.Jack the atv up,disconnect the linkage, and move the shifter till
the wheels spin.Move the linkage back and forward until it is in the right spot and then it will
engage properly. But like said above a sensor could be bad too........
