Chain and sprockets worn?
#1
I am still on my original chain and sprockets. When I adjusted the chain this last time to spec, the zirc on the bearing carrier is starting to tuck behind the rear shock reservoir. Is this normal and you just need to loosen up the chain each time you want to grease this zirc, or are my chain and sprockets worn out. I measured the chain for stretch and it appears to have a long way to go yet. Thanks.

I beleive its just the way Polaris had to design their quads. They need to put more money and time into the designs but I think you will just have to losen it.My polaris' have that same problem where the grease zerk is getting back there and I just loosen it.I dont think that your
sprockets and chains are wore out.
sprockets and chains are wore out.

I'm had the same problem with my '01 Scrambler. There's an easier way to grease it though. Just take out the straight zirc and put on a 90 degree one like the ones on the swingarm bushings. There not very expensive and you wont have to loosen the chain to grease it anymore.

Mine was screwed in but I bought the quad used so I'm not sure if it came that way from Polaris. If yours is pressed in you could drill it out and get a zirc with a larger base that will thread in.
