I assume there is a computer somewhere on this quad for the EFI. Please correct anything here. What mods are possible without messing up the settings? I like a little bit modded, but am turned off by messing with settings. I have read that a K&N may make less power, because the air fuel mixture may be affected. I know that all cases are not the same, I mean, not all 800's come from the factory with the same plugs in them. Not all 800's stock can pull the front wheels either! So, in general, what can I get away with? Pipe,K&N,Clutches,Timing,etc...

 

There are no mods available for the 800 that require any fuel mods whats so ever (that I am aware of). For starters the 800 comes way fat from the factory. We have run them in testing with no air box at all and still seem them running rich on our air-fuel ratio gauge. There is a computer (ecu) but you cannot change it no one makes a aftermarket ecu and no one can remap them either. You can add fuel with a power commmander or a tfi fuel controiller but we have found no need for either of them yet. Our test quad which has cams, ported head, filter, true duals, and clutch kit has no fuel mods made to it what so ever. I hope this helps clear up any confusion you may have at this time. Yep, helps out alot. Now I just need to see how froggy I want to get. See, I have a 5 year warranty. So I need to see what mods would void this warranty. My dealer said. He would not turn away warranty, but I don't see why he would do me this favor. Isn't his billable labor rate cheaper, if it IS warranty. So basically they would make more money, if they billed me. Anyway, he said TRUST ME. I said ok, PUT IT IN WRITING! Wonder why he shyed away? LOL!!!!!

 

Any of those mods will void your warranty the quad must stay in stock form for anythgin to be covered under warranty.
