A buddy of mine just bought a (very) used 1997 Explorer 300. It cleaned up pretty good, we replaced the starter and everything seems to be working except the 4x4 the idiot light is not coming on and it does not appear to be pulling. Any ideas suggestions, tips or hints?

It appears to be a very simple set up but some hints in the right direction to start diagnostics would be appreciated.

If the transmission has been out there is a good possibility the shift linkages are not right.If thats the case pm me and I will tell you how to fix it.
