Default EBS on a 98 Scrambler? Is it possible?

Hello, I rode my 98 scrambler for the first time the other day, I really loved it, Mostly all I do is trail ride, I absolutely enjoy the ebs on my 01 and 05 sportsmans, you just let off and slow down, its great. If i let off on the scrambler I coast for ever and im not used to that. There a ton of hills around that I have to go on everyday, With the 01 sportsman I am still on the original brake pads because of how little I use them. My question is can I put ebs on my scrambler? What do I need to replace if I can? Theres a clutch kit in my scrambler right now, so if I have to replace the primary could I put the kit thats in my original clutch in the new one? Same goes for the secondary, I already have an ebs belt for it. Thanks alot, Brian

you can convert to ebs but you need an ebs primary and secondary clutch and as a result its fairly expensive.

What do I need for the secondary clutch and can i use my clutch kit in the new primary? I found a ebs primary with a broken sheath, could I use my sheath and guts for it? Thanks, Brian

I guess its what you are used to. I have a 2000 Scrammy and got an 800 Sportsman this year and am finding EBS hard to get used to.

Go with a TEAM roller secondary and if you get it set up right you wont need EBS.
If you have an aftermarket secondary spring such as a HPD violet run it at 2-2 and this will help some too.

I'm not a mechanic, so I can't tell you why...but Polaris cleary states not to put EBS clutches on non dual-range machines (like Scrambler, Trail Boss, etc). Again, not sure why.
