I'm just going to have a little fun here...What would be your ideal quad? What ever you want!! For me, it would be a Scrambler 4x4, 600cc twin 2 stroke (about 100 hp), A-arm front suspension, single shock rear, +3 extended swingarm, holeshot XCT's at all corners, hi/low range transmission, black plastic, lotsa chrome, and under 420 pounds! Give me that and I would die a happy man! So what about you?? Everybody respond!!!

PS- Please don't give some lame response like a Banshee or Raptor...keep it Polaris!!

 

SP500 HO with a Rubicon tranny. 27" swampers w/ aluminum wheels. I agree 100% with can the space pod. 3000 lb warn winch. Throw in a built in GPS and I'd be as happy as a quad in mud!!!

An Xplorer like mine,except with ALL shaft drive.Might also pop in a 600cc 2-stroke,oil injection engine in for a little more burst,

i'm not sure if there is an ideal quad because i always want something else faster stronger thats why i am trying to put my old KX 500 motor on my trail boss (YEA RIGHT) seriously though i would like to see polaris come out with something like a 700 scrambler with the auto tranny after all who likes to shift when they dont have to

 

I would have to go with Uncle Muck! Except I would throw in the Kawasaki 650 v-twin engine so I would definitely have more than enough power to spin the 26" tires and the lift kit. Plus the built in GPS and a small tape player stereo.

That is a tough one right now for me I have the perfect quad. but if i had to dream? It would be a high revving 600 twin 4 stroke, possibly 150 -175 HP. True 4x4, fully independent suspension with 12-14 inches of travel. All the usefull stuff, racks that kind thing. I want the kind of power that would smoke all 4 28 inch outlaws on dry tar, while still be able to rock crawl. all for 2999.00 out the door.

 

Scrambler 4x4 with 600 to 650cc 4 stroke 60 hp at the wheels with auto H & L range tranny, chrome moly frame, aluminum swing arm, 12" travel suspension fr & rr, foot pegs, much better brakes fr & rr, 25" tires and 450 lbs tops. Not the perfect quad but you gotta leave room to play too.
At a cost of say $7500 range.

It's not a Polaris, or anything already existent.
It would be a no frame quad...or actually an engine-frame quad, with 4 swingarms (1 to each wheel), the 2 rear swingarms would turn on the same axle as the chain sprocket (so acceleration won't waste the rear suspension)...and actually, I would put shafts instead of chain (no more tightening)...and to protect them, I'd slip the shafts in the swingarms (made of aluminium, of course). The swingarms wouls obviously have an opening to put the shaft in, and grease it once in a while. The front swingarms would be attached where the engine brackets usually go. The engine case can be helped by adding a nice aluminium reinforcement from the rear swingarm mount to the fronts.
With 4 swingarms (and BTW 4 independent wheels), I'll need 4 disc brakes.
The engine would be a 500cc 2 stroke (from a kx...or cr), or if I can find it 680cc single 2 stroke which is used in sidecar cross (80hp).
The only problem with this is how can I fix the body roll?? An antiroll bar is no way, so I'd have to find an hydraulic way to keep the machine straight when turning, but allowing each wheel to absorb bumps independently (an antirollbar can't do that).

You can be sure that as soon as I have the time to design this properly, I'll make it!!!
All machines today are no good...the Arctic cat (or SP) has the best (or "less worse") chassis, and put in a Raptor engine (performance...and reverse). But this last one would be only a compromise. The upper description is NICE.

PS...I have sill some time left, I'm 18, so let's say I have 100 years of passion left!!!
