800 lifted with stock Polaris parts
#1
I ordered Scrambler front springs and ranger rear springs for my 800. The front springs will remove any suspension sag without a rider on it. This in turn will give more ground clearance. The spring loads are about the same so ride stiffness should not be affected too much. I did this on my '01 500, loved it! This is essentially the same thing as the 2" spacer lift, except mine will look stock. Less chance of any warranty rejects, by the dealer. Polaris really is sucking on the rear. Did my homework on this one, from my research I found Ranger springs are a little taller and 50% more stiff.(stayed away from the MV, that is WAAAAY too stiff, IMO) This is my first time messing with the rears. Right now, I got about 1.5" of no rider sag in the rear. I hope this spring will eliminate at least SOME of the sag. I am 300lbs, so when on the trails hitting the bumps and dips obviously the cv's will not be maxed out all the time, so I think excelerated cv wear should not be a problem. After all I am still in the Polaris designed cv angle range. My shocks will still prevent cv from going out of designed angle range. Any opinions here?
