If you're trying to use the Trail Boss filter in the Blazer, it's narrower and longer than the stock Blazer filter.
Rather than cut the airbox, I'd just get the correct filter.

Just making sure. I have K&N on mine, and it fit fine. Now the dealer gave me the wrong one (actually was for the Blazer) and it was too short and too big around. Have a Blazer too, so it wasn't any problem.

I had considered getting a Uni filter, but this may change my mind.

Another quetsion. I'm familiar with the ledge part (rear of airbox, end of filter should fit into it), but I'm not sure what you mean by snorkel part. Mine doesn't drop into the airbox. (assuming you're talking about the lid itself)

Yes i had the same problem with the filter being too long and hitting the snorkle from the airbox cover, just trim the plastic end where the snorkel hits and make it fit. Mine did that with a paper filter and a K&N i got from the dealer.

Just curious, do you know the K&N part # they sold you?

Nope, but it was listed in the book (I saw it myself) as being for the Trailboss 325, I specifically looked to make sure because i wondered if they gave me the right filter when i bought the paper filter a year earlier.

Just thinking they sold you one for a 2002. They changed the shape of the air filter that year.

Maybe, the replacement filters i bought from the dealer were longer by an inch or two than the stock one it came with.
