Is it true Polaris has a lifetime warranty on there belts, and if so did anybody have any trouble making a claim or there is LOTS of fine print to read first. A buddy at work just bought a new belt for his Polaris 800 and somebody told him they have a lifetime warranty. I just wanted to know if this was true!!!Thanks.......

 

i just bought a 2006 trail boss a month ago and the dealer told me there is a lifetime warrenty on the belt i have yet to see if that is true though

 

It's a "limited lifetime warranty". They only replace once! I've claimed on a few machines no problem.

 

How old were the ATV's when you got the new belts under warranty.... Does that make a differance!!!!

 

The warrenty is a crock of **** ! Ive tried to take back 2 belts off of 2 different machines, One off of my 01 500 sportsman and one off of my cousins wheeler, the sp 500 was actually taken apart at the dealers, they wouldnt warrenty it because it had a tiny spot of belt burn where the clutch had burnt it from towing the wood trailer once in high range for a few seconds. Ended that warrenty all over that, the other belt was the same deal just a little worse. both original belts, and i tried to reason with them and they wouldnt do it. my 2005 polaris 800 exploded a belt at 350 miles. took the shreds and nubs of belt in a garbage bag to the dealer, gave me a new one, free of charge. my 2000 polaris 500 H.O. belt snapped at 900 miles, got a new one for free, no questions asked.

 

I am coming to Louisville for service[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]. Had an '01 with a bad belt. Service manager measured the width. Said, come back in 1/16" of an inch! Never did go back. It survived until I took it in to trade, to a different dealer BTW! I too believe the belt warranty is all up to the dealer and if he's in a good mood!

 

We were on our Spring ride this year and my wife was riding my father-in-laws 01 sportsman 500 and the belt blew on the trail. He bought this machine used and I think it actually had been rolled. Anyhow we went to the local dealer on a Sat afternoon and they replaced it free of charge no questions asked. Someone in our group said the first replacement is free and then they charge a little more each time after that. I actually never read the warranty details on it.

 

The lifetime replacement only refers to the original belt, so it's really only good once.

I never had any issues with mine, but like was said earlier, it's up to the dealer to decide.

And a good attitude may make the difference.

 

i have ruined 3 belts ,only the first one was free i paided full price for the other two.SO MUCH FOR THE LIFETIME WARRANTY BULL.....
