Yeah the 05 and 06 sportsmans do have amazing ride and handling. I rode my brothers 06 800 and his wifes 05 400 and they ride like a cloud. Atleast mine can spank the 400 in a drag race but that's not much to brag about.

do you know the manufacturer date on that machine?

was it stock?

I know the 700 will top around 68-70-- but i didn't think a 500ho would quite get there.

 

My 05 sportsman is not even close to being as fast as my 01 sportsman. My buddy has an 01 yellow sportsman he can out run a the old 600 grizz, My 05 will top out about 55mph according to the speedometer, But I didn't get it for racing any how.

 

My 02 500 HO does 67 mph

It will beat my 05 700 sportsman in a race and my 700 will do about 62

My scammy hit 59mph (GPS and radar verified) on glare ice last winter drag racing a Bombi 400. Going fast on dirt and pavement is alright but for good times go play on the ice without studded tires with someone beside you.
P.S. Bombi lost bad (52mph on radar)

 

Racing side by side on ice? Crazy canuck. JK, my family is from Montreal. You must be into ice hockey.

 

HAHA, Thats crazy, I will have to try that this winter on my scrammy, Maybe I will race my cousin with him on his 1990 indy sport 340-that thing is fast for what it is!

 

Not a big hockey fan too busy on the bike most of the time, and crazy, YES i am. I think the indy lite will beat you all around but try it you might like it, Fastest ride that day was a new Mach Z 1000 twin, ran 132mph (GPS and Radar) only 130mph with my fat a$$ on it

 

Sweet, Thats pleanty fast! Ive got many mods on the scrammy and many mod sleds- LOVE those triples. All mine are pretty modded right out so they are pleanty fast. Ill top it out this year on the lake and let ya know how fast she runs. Brian
